As a Medical Assistant, you will work closely with our team of board-certified physicians to provide high-quality clinical and administrative support while ensuring an exceptional patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with multiple board-certified physicians to support daily clinical operations.
- Administer allergy injections, vitamin B12 injections, routine vaccinations, and other physician-directed immunizations.
- Administer infant and childhood immunizations under the supervision of a physician.
- Perform clinical and nursing procedures as delegated by the physician and within your scope of practice.
- Assist physicians during patient examinations and medical procedures.
- Escort patients to examination rooms, obtain medical histories, record vital signs (including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, and weight), and accurately document findings in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Prepare and update patient electronic charts prior to physician assessments.
- Communicate relevant patient information to physicians before appointments.
- Perform clinical procedures, including phlebotomy (blood draws), wart treatments, and other office-based procedures as required.
- Answer telephone calls, relay messages, and respond professionally to inquiries from patients, physicians, pharmacies, and other healthcare providers.
- Identify patients requiring urgent medical attention and appropriately prioritize their care.
- Monitor and maintain medical supply and vaccine inventories.
- Contact patients regarding laboratory results as directed by the physician, assist with follow-up scheduling, and coordinate appropriate care plans based on physician instructions.
Qualifications & Knowledge
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare practices.
- Experience working in a clinical or family medicine setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in grammar, spelling, and professional documentation.
Skills & Competencies
- Outstanding patient service and professional telephone etiquette.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced medical environment.
- Ability to maintain efficient patient flow and support clinic operations.
- Competency in phlebotomy and administering injections.
- Experience with OSCAR EMR is considered a strong asset.
Education
- Medical background (Registered Nurse, International Medical Graduate, Physician, or other relevant healthcare professional).
